Professional Experience: |
Raj has over 16 years of experience, majority of which has been spent working with Deloitte in the CEO’s (Regional Managing Partner) office leading consecutive CEOs’ key projects and program's which included Deloitte's citizenship (CSR) mandate, Employee engagement, internal and external corporate events, communications etc. He grew CSR program from ground up through a sustainable stakeholder engagement model seeded with strategic partnerships, and signature programs.
More recently as the COO for Literacy India a Gurgaon based grassroots level nonprofit, Raj helped define and execute organisation and people strategy, and assisted LI’s board of trustees in annual business planning, budgeting, fund raising and monitoring/ tracking process. He also helped develop operating frameworks and models for taking promising new and innovative programs to scale.
One of his strong beliefs is that ‘strategic’ investments by businesses can help address and solve major societal issues. The way he sees it, if corporate community involvement is to be a powerful driver of social impact and business value, then government, nonprofit and business leaders must focus not just on more cash giving and volunteers, but on more substantive and strategic involvement that taps the core strengths of business. He also believes that strategic intervention at the mid school and high school level are critical to building self-aware and employable future generations.
An architect by education, Raj's experience ranges from spanning a variety of fields including corporate social responsibility and sustainability, nonprofit management, corporate communications, program/project management. Raj has served on CII's national committee for school education and CII AP's CSR & Affirmative Action committee for where his main focus was on themes such as: role of nonprofit organisations in education, quality education, and vocational education.
