Professional Experience: |
I am currently working with the Brookings Institution India Centre in New Delhi in Development and Communications. My primary responsibilities are identifying and developing avenues for partnerships and funding for the institution. I have been in this role for almost a year, prior to which I was a Research Assistant at Brookings India in the field of Development Economics. I joined the organisation when it was just starting out, and was part of a small start-up team. This experience was invaluable, and apart from my research work, I was involved in an array of activities – building relations with various stakeholders and policy drivers, creating and negotiating proposals for project funding.
My two year stint as a Research Assistant, allowed me to hone by analytical abilities in a multidisciplinary research environment. My research was, significantly, rooted in a multi-stakeholder approach, guided by insights from individual meetings, roundtables, and workshops allowing for a better-rounded and informed research papers. Once such paper was on Advancing Financial Inclusion in India Beyond the Jan-Dhan Yojana, which I co-authored with a scholar at Brookings India. The paper was well received by policy makers, and is cited by various media outlets as an informed piece on financial inclusion recommendations for India.

Education: |
Masters of Science in International Economic Policy & Analysis. Dissertation topic was on evaluating micro-credit in India and whether it has an impact on alleviating poverty in rural areas. Courses taken during my degree included data analysis, research methods, micro and macro economic analysis, program evaluation which involved training in cost benefit analysis and evaluation methods.
The course allowed me to further develop my knowledge of economics and implement it to real world scenarios. Evaluate policy problems, and come up with implementable, feasible, and scalable solutions.
