Siddharth is the recipient of numerous awards from HSBC for his proactive approach towards the internal and external clients. He was selected by HSBC and Earthwatch (U.K) for the Employee Environmental Fellowship Program, to volunteer in a Koala ecology project in Australia, along with participants from 15 countries. After, he set up a small project to raise awareness about organic farming in Ladakh, funded by Earthwatch (U.K).

Subsequent to that, he volunteered on a part time basis with the Bangalore Chapter of Lingshed Area Development Foundation, helping nuns and monks, to improve their inter personal and computer skills. Thereafter, he was selected for the Group Study Exchange program by Rotary International, to U.S.A and Canada, where he was engaged in studying the banking system there.

He then worked on a Community Based Disaster Management Project along the international line of control between India and Pakistan, in Kashmir. He actively volunteered in the relief and rescue work during the Ladakh flash floods. He was able to reach out (with the funds received from himalaya_trekkers group at Yahoo) to 10 families who were severely affected by the floods, with the basic food and clothing.

Further to that he has been working with the Lingshed Area Development Foundation, which is a community based not for profit organization and aspires on making meaningful and practical education accessible to children coming from disadvantaged families and from a very isolated and financially challenged region of Ladakh (the Trans Singe la area). This foundation endeavors to build a holistic educational platform to bring out the true human potential of every child and make the ‘Rising India’ story inclusive. He was also the Project Coordinator for a global intercultural project, between Ladakhi and Czech students. He was responsible for proposing list of suitable topics, methodology and how the internet portal could be integrated in day to day teaching.

He has recently completed a full time Master’s Program in Development (2012 – 2014) at the Azim Premji University Bangalore, India with an A Grade. During his time here he was consistently engaged in understanding the nuances of various ‘development issues’ and critically examining the various development interventions. His Master’s Dissertation was on understanding the ‘Coping Mechanisms of the ‘Changpa Nomads’ (who inhabit the cold and high altitude plateau of Changthang along the Indo Chinese Border), in the face of modernity and globalization. He further hopes to collaborate with the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council to tailor their educational policies to meet the needs of these pastoralists. Recently he was selected for the prestigious International Summer School (2014) in Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development conducted by the University of Oslo, Norway, with a full scholarship.

He is very keen to share and implement his knowledge and skills in furthering education
