Most of the 24-odd years that I have worked, I have balanced two professions: journalism and writing for children. As a Feature Writer and editor, I have worked with top-of-the-chart publications like The Economic Times, Femina, Amrita Bazar Patrika and Target. Travelling across the country, I have also worked with local magazines, making do with their limited infrastructure. As an award-winning children's author, I have also edited children's weekly news pages. With over 30 books, one of my fact books has been appreciated by an American university for the thorough information it carries. All this has proved, time and again, that I am an able administrator and team leader. As voluntary Chairperson of a training centre for women and children, I turned a moirbund organisation of a national chain into a winner. In the true spirit of non-profits, it is a model that is sustainable, replicable and is not dependent on any one personality. I also believe in voluntarism and the social responsibility of every individual so besides my professional work, I have always given of my time and talent to voluntary work, either as an individual or as an editor and environmental educator with non-profits.

With Bachelor's and Master's degrees in English, I went on to study for a post graduate degree in Education and in Corporate Communications. Besides formal education, I have learnt on the job and am adept in MS Office and comfortable with Photoshop, Page Maker and Quark Express.
