8 years of multi-disciplinary post-graduate research and 5 years work experience. This includes 2 years experience as a social entrepreneur in the position of Founder & Project Director of a long term public-private partnership with Gov. of Odisha for urban slum development, 2 years as Officer on Special Duty with the Govt. of Meghalaya to set up and head their Knowledge Mgmt Unit (including research, communications, advocacy, government & public relations), and 2 years of experience in teaching public policy, interning with social impact investment firms, and carrying out a variety of independent research projects broadly in the area of development.

Expected to complete doctorate in April/May 2022 in Political Science & International Relations, from Graduate Institute Geneva (IHEID). Doctoral research focuses on urban welfare politics, democratic politics, and participation of the urban poor in politics & governance. The research uses multiple methods, including original household surveys, ethnography, as well as field survey experiments & quantitative analysis using STATA.
Prior education includes masters degrees in both the social sciences and the natural sciences. My masters degree in political science focused on the political economy of sustainable development and governance, and involved working under the supervision of the Nobel Laureate in Economics, (late) Dr. Elinor Ostrom. This was preceded by a masters in Marine Science, where the focus was on behavioral ecology and its implications for sustainable fishing or conservation in coastal ecosystems.
My undergraduate studies were carried out at Yale University, and focused primarily on the biological sciences.
