Professional Experience: |

I am currently also interning with Progressio, an international development charity that focuses on issues surrounding environmental degradation, gender discrimination, and poverty in the global south. My current position is of a Communications (Media) Intern. My key responsibilities are to frame stories of International Citizen Service (Department for International Development, UK Government) of volunteers working in Africa and Central America. My work with the organization includes preparing E-news, articles and pitching detailed research stories to the local and national media houses and working closely with communications and policy department. I am also a political campaigner and public orator for Indian National Congress. My responsibilities included participating in the regional and national election campaign for the Indian National Congress party since 1998. Working with political leaders and being highly involved in the political process of the country made my approach and understanding towards the issues faced by the common people especially in the rural regions of India stronger and clearer. Further, I have been highly involved with the global campaign to end violence against women “One Billion Rising” in the University of Delhi as a university representative and assisted a renowned feminist activist Kamala Bhasin from India to organize the campaign. I am also currently serving as the vice-president of “Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom” at SOAS. Such involvement in gender issues has helped me improve my understanding of the importance of role of women for socio-political development. I have also been involved in student bodies as an office holder, which helped gain experience and important skills such as leadership and teamwork.

I am currently working on my dissertation as part of my masters program at School of Oriental and African Studies.My studies at SOAS have exposed me to a broad range of regional issues in South Asia and the Middle East. Through my work in two of my modules, on Government and Politics of the Modern South Asia and International Politics of the Middle East, I have developed a greater understanding of the particular social and political challenges that these regions face, and how certain governments have approached these problems. Moreover, the module on Security Governance has focused on particular security issues faced in the post-cold war era and has given me an insight about policy framework in order to secure security and maintain welfare state. I focused on the International Theory module for a better theoretical approach towards understanding challenges faced in the modern states.
I completed my undergraduate degree from Miranda House with a 2:1 score. The main course focused on were: Political Science, Sanskrit, Human right, Gender, and Environment.

Affiliations and Achievements: |
I have since high school been in charge of student bodies at my respective institutions. I received a Principals Medal as the 'Best student of humanities' at Miranda House, University of Delhi.
I have been invited for several years as the guest speaker at Entrepreneurship Development Institute a management institute to deliver series of sessions on personality development and capacity building.
