ROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES AND EXPERTISE OVER THE YEARS 1998 -2019 – Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) - Country Head - CGM, SIDBI (Retd.) ? Managed successfully World Bank-led SME Financing and Development Projects (SMEFDP) in India in partnership with DFID, UK; EU projects by KfW and GIZ, Germany and SDC, Switzerland towards promotion, financing and development of SME sector in India. These projects won international awards and recognition by G-20, ADFIAP and World Bank . ? Benefitted more than 100 thousand in SME sector through skill development, entrepreneurship development and cluster developments. ? Designed SME sector development program in Egypt through SFD, Govt. of Egypt and World Bank. ? Successfully contracted various lines of credit from World Bank, KfW, Germany; AfD, French and JICA, Japan for SIDBI for financing SMEs in India. ? Strengthened supporting institutions like Transunion CIBIL – credit information bureau, Acuite – an SME rating agency. ? SME POLICY MAKING: Constantly engaging with Government of India (especially Ministry of Finance and M/o MSME), Reserve Bank of India, Planning Commission, etc. in formulating and implementing various policy measures for the MSME sector. Many suggestions were translated into budget announcements. ? Led a team of merchant bankers for raising equity through SME IPOs. 2014-15– NCGTC, Ministry of Finance, GoI - CEO (Deputation) ? Set up and managed NCGTC – World’s largest credit Guarantee institution for SMEs and others - putting in place a robust organizational structure a B2B model with operational and IT linkages with banks. 1984-98 – Reserve Bank of India - Assistant Advisor ? Research on all areas of economics including applied macro economics, public finance, international trade & developments – Special focus on Monetary economics and Policy making. ? Preparing in-depth policy oriented research papers on especially on small industries.
