Professional Experience:
I have taught courses on ‘Indian History & Politics’ and ‘US Governance & Policy’ to undergraduate students at Ansal University, Gurgaon between 2013 and 2015. The responsibilities included introducing students to the socio-economic and political history of India and the US in respective courses with emphasis on the evolution and development of political, economic and social institutions and ideas.
I have researched with a think tank, the Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies, and have regularly been writing research papers and commentaries on geopolitics, defence security and foreign policy for journals and newspapers. I also worked with national level advocacy body WomenPowerConnect that influences legislators and policy makers to frame gender-sensitive policies. Between 2012 and 2014, I worked as a research consultant with a Member of Parliament where I was exposed to internal debates and committee hearings on subjects related to renewable energy, healthcare, environment and education.

Education:
I recently submitted my doctoral thesis on ‘US Stakeholders Responses to Environmental Disasters: A Case Study of the 2010 Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill’ to Jawharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. The dissertation points out the nature of energy addiction in growing markets. While the study is US Area specific, its results are relevant for a developing country like India considering its need for energy and oil that has led to policies encouraging more exploration and transportation. These activities are subject to risk of disasters. Yet, there is hardly any public policy debate in this regard. I aim to draw examples from current research to highlight the issue in the Indian public policy domain.
For my PhD study, I got the opportunity to conduct primary research in the United States as Nehru-Fulbright scholar in 2015-2016.

My Masters in Political Science from JNU helped me deepen my grasp over the working of political processes and political institutions in India. My M-Phil and D-Phil specialisation in International Studies allowed me a comparative analysis of state power, institutions and markets among different countries.
I pursued Bachelors in Journalism from Delhi University.
