Professional Experience: |
I am currently working as a Consultant at Prime Minister’s Rural Development Fellowship Scheme (PMRDFs). At PMRDFs I have been extensively involved in several research projects and managerial responsibilities. I have been independently responsible for developing factsheets consisting of 70 indicators on ‘Structural Inequalities and Conflict’ for 18 PMRDFs intervening states using secondary data sources and large data sets like Census and NSSO unit level data. At the same time, I actively contribute to other research and documentation projects undertaken at PMRDFs, particularly in editing two volumes that document best practices of the PMRD Fellows and developing a series of seven compendiums on Masters in Development Practice (MDP) course offered to the Fellows. Additionally, I have organized training workshops and semester based- residential contact phases for the Fellows. I also engage in other advocacy and managerial responsibilities as per the exigencies of the project. Before joining PMRDFs, my experience while working on the book ‘Unfolding Human Development: What, Why and How?’, assisting Prof. K. Seeta Prabhu, Chair Professor TISS, wherein I was actively involved in drafting and editing of all the chapters. I believe this experience has strengthened my conceptual moorings and deepened my understanding of various issues relating to social sectors, poverty and sustainable development, particularly in the context of the global south. My experience at PMRDFs and TISS has helped me to understand the importance of ‘bottom up’ and participatory development initiatives in bringing about sustainable development from a closer lens. Besides, I have also contributed a draft of the Introduction chapter of the Human Development Report, Thane. I have also gathered field experience while working on the ‘Employer's Survey for Domestic Workers in India: A Study of Delhi and Mumbai’ at Centre for Development and Research Action and Impact Evaluation Study at Teach for India
