June 2012- January 2013- Protocol development of River Health Assessment for River Ganga, WWF- India, New Delhi, India
I have worked at The River Basins & Water Policy Department of WWF- India to contribute to the development of the protocol for River Health Assessment of Ganga River, innovative and first ever holistic approach with a mission to address the river health issues with the evaluation of catchment, floodplain, riparian and flow health, aside from the traditional water quality and biomonitoring studies in India. The project mission was to incorporate scientific and a community driven or stakeholder’s participation aspect. The protocol developed by me was field tested, at a Ramsar site, Karnwas Narora, Uttar Pradesh, India that included the study of scientific parameters as well as direct interaction with the local communities to encompass and promote stakeholder’s participation in river ecosystem conservation to develop a community based River Health Assessment project. The protocol included the development of a river health index where a colour score of blue, signifying a fair river health condition at the site, was awarded during the field test. The protocol is still to be developed for future stages of the project. My role also included the management and organization of departmental programmes, conferences, associate with the various national (Dr. R.C Trivedi) and international experts (Robert speed- Consultant from WWF-UK and Water allocation specialist at China master basin planning project). I carried out an extensive background research on River Health Assessment and related programmes carried out in USA, Australia, China, South Africa, U.K, EU and India to extract the key information about the elements of RHA and develop the first ever RHA of India. As a part of my duty I prepared departmental written documents, presentations and reported directly to the Director of the department. I worked for the HR, communication and programme coordination of the department.

May-June 2012- Environmental Legislation Study, Central Pollution Control Board, New Delhi, India
I prepared draft directions issued under section 18(i)(b) of “Power to give directions” of Water act 1974, India on behalf of central pollution control board to the state authorities (Delhi pollution control committee) under whose lack of supervision a community lake (Hauz Khas lake, New delhi) faced serious pollution threats. I developed a deep understanding and practical functioning of government legal system on Environmental Issues and analysis of scientific technical reports through practical exposure of how environmental legislation rules and regulations function in India.
