Professional Experience:
I am a strategic thinker who has consistently taken the initiative to deliver innovative programming in the diverse organizations I have served. I have shared knowledge and brought together various cross-sectoral organizations (and expertise) to contribute to a broader social impact in my varied roles as volunteer, social entrepreneur, manager, consultant and media professional.
My commitment to gender & social equity was nurtured at home, and further strengthened with my exposure to issues faced by rural women, especially small holder farmers and landless. My belief in multi-sectoral partnerships and passion to mainstream gender equity issues led me to work with the private and public sector.
My leadership in strategic development and program management provides me with the capability to support, coordinate and implement projects of scale. I am a self starter and have successfully provided leadership to multi-functional and multi-locational teams in the private, public and civil society sectors.
I have achieved fundraising goals for program activities, conducting events and initiated innovating programming to strengthen membership and support base, both in India and the United States. This resource mobilization experience is supported by my expertise in development communication. Throughout my career I have also successfully utilized my communication expertise to influence senior stakeholders in corporate, government, academic, donor and media organizations to raise funds, organize events and enhanced visibility through ensuring media coverage. This experience and expertise has also supported me to over achieve given revenue targets in my business development roles in the corporate sector.
I have worked to ensure stakeholder – community, donor organizations, NGO Partners, academic institutions, religious charities, private sector and public sector bureaucracy-satisfaction in my varied roles as a volunteer, student, development & media professional and project management & business development specialist. All through my career I have been extremely successful in building and sharing networks, establishing credibility and building trust across a cross section of stakeholders for a future promise of quality delivery.
These capabilities are grounded in my experience of successful germination of innovative solutions, the ability to take them through the program cycle as well as my interdisciplinary academic training.
