I am a development professional from rural development background having more than 13 years’ of experience in social sector. This experience has inculcated good understanding of development issues and cultural differences. I have developed strong management, organizational and problem solving skills drawing learning's from the specialization in PPM (Project Planning and Management).
Presently I am working as Programme Manager in Aga Khan Foundation and leading a project team of 22 professionals and more than 650 Project staff.
I have worked as State Convergence Facilitator under GoI UN Joint Program on convergence, I was responsible for supporting the district administrations and state government in achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) through Integrated decentralized district planning approach in the selected five districts of Bihar. In the capacity of State Convergence /District Facilitator, I had been striving hard to perform the following responsibilities: develop the capacity of the government officials to understand MDGs, developing mechanisms to track MDGs relevant to the district, strengthening the programme monitoring mechanism in the district, budgetary analysis of flagship schemes etc. Apart from this technical assistance to the line departments has been provided on various aspects of different programmes. This assignment had helped me to develop understanding & expertise on the government policy & programmes especially pertaining to Health, Nutrition, Education, Water and Sanitation, employment, poverty, science and technology, etc. It has also helped me to get an insider view of the government systems and the complexities associated with it. In fact, now I can proudly proclaim to have worked ‘outside’ the government, ‘with’ the government and ‘within’ the government.
I am capable of serving as the catalyst for achieving objectives of the program and organic growth through effective contributions. I stand with cross functional experience in event management, logistics management & programme management across organizations engaged in the areas of Water & Sanitation, Public health, Hygiene promotion, Livelihood, Child protection, education and disaster response. My serving to address the humanitarian cause becomes more worthwhile by getting an opportunity to manage the full fledged disaster relief program during Bihar Floods of 2004.
I firmly believe that I will be able to provide both policy level and field level inputs for effective implementation of any development programmes pertaining health, nutrition, education, water & sanitation, disaster management, livelihood, convergence for the larger interest of the deprived community.
