Professional Experience:

1)Worked as external consultant for IL & FS Environment Infrastructure & Services Ltd, Mumbai for the following projects

Project 1 - Preparation of 30 year advance vision and development plan for Thekkady in Idukki district, Kerala

Client – Tourism Department, Government of Kerala

Project 2 - Slum free city plan of action for Thrissur Muncipal Corporation in Kerala – Rajiv Awas Yojna

Client - Kudumbashree (State Poverty Eradication Mission) & Thrissur Muncipal Corporation

2) Worked as Block Technology Manager with Agriculture Technology Management Agency.I was in charge of Vypin block ,Kerala.
Major functions
a) Assist the Block Technology Team in preparation and implementation of block action Plan
b) Operationalization of farm schools
c) Organization of technical interaction with farmers interest groups & commodity interest groups
d) Maintaining inventory of all farmers interest groups and farmer organization within the block
e) Organizing trainings, exposure visits (intra and inter states), demonstrations, exhibitions, Kissan Ghoshtis
etc.
f) Coordinating activities of agriculture and allied departments.

3) I had worked as an intern with Periyar foundation & Periyar Tiger Reserve, Kerala Forest Department for 10 weeks. I was involved in two research projects

1)Estimation of Carrying Capacity
a) Boat Cruise in Periyar Lake
b) Forest Road leading to ecotourism spot Gavi
c) Community based ecotourism programmes


2)Developing a Waste Management Model for Periyar Tiger Reserve and Kumily Town

Major Learning and Achievements
• Designed treatment plan for the sewage stream entering the forest land.
. Designed biological method for sewage water treatment using Vetiver plant
• Identified possible recycling or reuse methods of non degradable solid wastes techniques and their feasibility in local conditions
• Developed Questionnaires and Interview Schedules for the collection of primary data
• Developed Financial Estimations for implementation of Waste Management project
• Conducted Field Survey inside the tiger reserve for identifying the limiting factors for Carrying Capacity
. Calculated carring capacity for various eco-tourism programmes - Nature Walk, Green Walk, Clouds walk, Jungle Scout, Tiger Trail, Bamboo Rafting, Border Hiking and Bullock Cart Ride.

4) I have undergone rural agricultural work experience(RAWE) progrmme for four months which included modules like Watershed management analysis and farm planning, agribusiness, entrepreneurship, personality and soft skill development program, Krishi Bhavan training, Regional Agricultural Research Station and Krishi Vigyan Kendra training, non-governmental organization training, agro clinic and village stay programme.

Education:

Post Graduate Diploma in Forestry Management holder from The Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal with Conservation and Livelihood Management as my major specialization and Environment management as minor specialization. I received my undergraduate degree in agriculture from Kerala Agricultural University.

I firmly believe that I would be able to contribute significantly to developmental organisations. I have a keen interest in livelihoods and natural resource management, having done my internship in these areas and having chosen elective courses in related subjects. I have undergone various courses on the related domains. I have made several presentations, attended workshops, prepared reports and technical papers,
which I am sure would stand me in good stead if selected to suitable positions.

I have had the opportunity to travel widely across India during my undergraduate and postgraduate courses which has exposed me to a plethora of cultures and natural resource management patterns. This has helped me form my own opinions and ideas on natural resource conservation and management, without ignoring business and livelihood component.

I feel that development sectoral jobs would provide me with the opportunity to exercise my creativity and analytical skills in the areas of forestry, agriculture, environment, development sector, natural resource and livelihoods, all of which I may claim to have deep interest in. My knowledge of financial management and project management can be of service in planning, execution and monitoring of projects in the organization.

Affiliations and Achievements:

•Attended the stake- holder interaction session on ‘Rainwater Harvesting’ held at the College of Horticultures part of the ICAR ad-hoc scheme on ‘technological and institutional interventions in rainwater harvesting’ in Kerala.

•Conducted a study on Vetiver and Lantana fibres as a part of establishing National Resource Centre in Natural Fibre Craft ,a project of the office of the development commissioner (handicrafts),Ministry of Textiles ,Govt. of India and implemented by Kottappuram Integrated Development Society (KIDS)

•Participated in the seminar entitled ‘Conserving biodiversity – tools and approaches’ jointly organized by Ministry of Human Resources Development and Kerala Agricultural University under the scheme for UNESCO related activities.

•Participated in the Kuttanad Arthropod Biodiversity Survey 2009 organized by the Kerala Agricultural University.

•Participated in the Nature Education Camp held at Silent Valley National Park.

•Active volunteer of National Service Scheme for four years during graduation.

•Participated in winter bird watching Camp at Van Vihar National Park
