WHY BCC? 
 
All development programmes require BCC to improve people's behaviour.
 
WHAT IS  C4D?
 
Communication for development has thus come to be seen as a way to amplify voice, facilitate meaningful participation, and foster social change.
 
WHAT IS BCC?
 
A pross whereby an organisation communicates  for Behaviour Change with its key stakeholders with in the system at all levels and locations.
 
WHY C4D?
 
Development can not take place untill the key audience feels the need, this requires communication most suitable to them. 
 
FOR WHOM ?
Professionals who are engaged with implementation of development programmes like HR & OD, Communication, Change Facilitation, Project Management, CSR, M&E Functions.
 
HOW WILL THIS TRAINING BE BENEFICAL?
BCC is a strategy, which refers to the systematic attempts to modify/influence behavior or practices and environmental factors related to that behavior which indirectly or directly promotes development. It's process for implementation. The strategy includes all the 4 types of Communication; intra personal, interpersonal, mass communication and organizational communication. Skills for preparation of IEC activities, selection of modes and material preparation and production are the essential component of the training.
 
After this training participants will be able to:

METHODOLOGY :
Pre & post Evaluation, Case Study, Role Play, Meta planning, Fish Bowl, Group Discussions, Games etc. The focus would be more on the participation than lecture having only one way communication.
 
COURSE CONTENTS :
  1. How to use BCC and C4D training tools ?
  2. Budgeting for BCC/C4D
  3. Communication issues
  4. Elements of intra communication
  5. Understanding different communication models use  development programme such as IPC, Advocacy, IEC, Trialogue etc.
  6. Community mobilization techniques & issues.
  7. Techniques of receiving feedback, reporting, discussions, suggestions, monitoring and inspection, sharing information between two offices.
  8. Need Identification Methods and Formative Research for BCC and C4D.
  9. Methods to be used for C4D & BCC, designing approaches & action plan for district level intra communication interventions.
  10. IIDM model for BCC and C4D at community level.
OUR FACULTY:
 
Dr. S. K. Trivedi Prime Areas: HR & OD, Development Communication, Change Facilitation, CSR, Development Management. He graduated from IIT Roorkee & PG in IE from TIPIE-NPC, MA in Public Administration, Ph D (Management of Change) with over 30 years of experience in the field of Management Consulting, BCC/IEC/C4D, OD/HRD. He has been the driving force behind IIDM with intense dedication towards development communication. He brings in his Industrial & corporate experience as an Employee from NPC, Hindustan Motors, IIHMR, Raymond’s & Coca Cola and development Communication from IIHMR & IIDM. He is accredited to have conducted more than 400 training programs, more than 100 research & evaluation studies in social as well as corporate sector, and more than 50 consulting assignments in various areas of Management, HRD, OB, Operational Research and Participatory Communication/BCC/C4D.
 
Dr. Bimal N BuchPrime Areas: Motivation, Assertiveness, BCC/IEC/C4D, Problem Solving, Conflict Resolution, Team Building, Strategic Management, SROI and CSR.    
              
A man of Public Health with degrees Dip. as M.B.,B.S., M.B.A. (H.M.), F.C.G.P., F.P. Consultant, D.H.R.D., P.G.D.H.R.M., P.G.C.H.M., P.G.C.HIV/AIDS, Dip.T.D. Orange belt Six sigma (MSME).
 
He is a well respected and highly skilled facilitator and coach with over 20 years experience in teaching BCC, Advocacy for health functionaries & Community Mobilization. Worked as faculty for last 20 years as Principal Health in SIHFW & RHFWTC in Gujarat. He worked in Gujarat Health Systems & Medical Colleges & now facilitator in BCC with IIDM, possess 30+ years experience in health communication. He has carried out studies on formative Research for BCC, IEC in Gujarat for drive against female foeticide and its effects.
 
Dr. Rekha Gupta MA in Geography, B.Ed. M.S.W. Ph D in HRD with over 08 years of experience in the field of BCC and C4D. Attended TOT on BCC and C4D interventions in MP for various programmes.
 
OUR STRENGTH IN THE SUBJECT:
The Institute has carried out number of operations research projects on the philosophy of development communication. We conducted “Base Line & Documentation Study for BCC Interventions by UNICEF & NGOs in District Guna & Shivpuri in M.P.” and another as Barrier Analysis for complementary feeding, a tool for formative research and also carried out two impact evaluation studies, one for Kalyani-I TV weekly magazine sponsored by Prasar Bharti & another for Kalyani-II TV Weekly Magazine telecast in 9 EAG states of India sponsored by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. We also evaluated radio programme on HIV/AIDS. In addition we developed communication material for peer counsellors used in Urban slums of Bhopal for MPSACS. Our Chief Media Consultant Dr B N Goswamy has produced several programmes as station Director of AIR and Doordarshan.
 
The Institute evolved Mansa-Wacha-Karmana model of empowerment based on the core concept of development communication and behavioural sciences. Based on this model the Institute had also carried out a large number of research projects in community mobilization and about 50 training programmes in BCC and Intra Communication on Pan India.

  3. Training on BCC and Intra Communication for Block Coordinators of rural AIDS programme and Positive Persons Network of Gujarat State AIDS Control Society. (100 Participants)
  4. Training on BCC and intra communication for Chief District Health Officers and District Media Officers of Gujarat Health and Family Welfare Department (60 Participants)
  5. Training on Intra Communication for all the District Media Officers/ Deputy District Media Officers, District Programme Managers, IEC Consultants of the districts of Madhya Pradesh (200 participants)
  6. Training on Intra Communication for all the Block Medical Officers & Block Extension Educators (BEEs) in all the Block (313) of Madhya Pradesh(200 participants)
  7. BCC training for the Resident Community Volunteers of urban slums of Bhopal for creating BCC about AIDS/HIV/STD in the large population of urban slums of Bhopal (2,50,000 slum dwellers) (1248 participants)
  8. Many other short courses on the subject have also been conducted based on client’s demands.
