About the training: Collecting high-quality data from the field is one of the common challenges faced by many researchers, and it becomes apparent that better technology could dramatically simplify the lives of research team members, reduce project costs, and improve data quality. Dobility’s India team is offering a three days training course on digital data collection (SurveyCTO) for researchers and evaluation professionals to empower them with technology for collecting real-time and quality data from the field.
Why this training? We successfully conducted SurveyCTO training last month in March 2019, refer to the blog article for more details: https://www.surveycto.com/events/surveycto-training-india. Looking at the overwhelming responses through registrations, we decided to float the second round of training in the month of May 2019 for the ones who missed the first training.
Who should participate? Academic researchers, Research associates/managers, M&E professionals, NGO/CSR professionals, ODK programmers, Ph.D. students, who are responsible for high-quality data collection.
Learning objectives of this training
The training program introduces you to SurveyCTO, its features, and its integration. It helps you to design your survey questionnaire in Excel format (.csv), best practices for high-quality data collection, near to real-time data monitoring to scrutinize data as soon as it reaches you, and data export features.
The training will be conducted by SurveyCTO’s in-house trainers having vast experience of training a number of organizations in India. The training will have a mix of practical/hands-on practice, group work (80%) along with theory sessions (20%).
Expected outcomes
At the end of the training program, the participants will be able to,
- Design and digitize paper-based surveys on the SurveyCTO platform
- Learn to collect data both online and offline using SurveyCTO
- Design complex survey forms and fully automatic workflows
- Use various quality check and real-time data monitoring features to scrutinize the data better
- Data visualization and exporting data in various formats compatible with the statistical tools being used for further analysis.
- Learn the best data collection practices and troubleshooting steps
