The three-day course on Measurement and Survey Design is intended for researchers, M&E professionals,  and other individuals interested in gaining essential skills for collecting high quality primary data. Since 2011, the CLEAR South Asia Regional Center, based at J-PAL South Asia, has conducted custom courses based on their extensive experience in measurement, survey design, and data collection. The course has been running successfully for two years and has included participation from organisations such as Aga Khan Rural Support Programme, BRAC, British Council, CARE India, Clinton Health Access Initiative, NITI Aayog, Oxford Policy Management, Pratham, Population Council, TATA Sustainability Group, and Water Aid among others. 

The course is designed to increase participants’ understanding of the process of designing and implementing effective survey questionnaires that yield high quality data. It focuses on concepts related to what data to collect, how to measure outcomes effectively, why and how to pilot the survey instrument to refine it and how to develop field protocols, and best practices related to each.
