ADMISSION NOTICE FOR ACADEMIC SESSION 2016 - 18

Master in Public Health

The two year MPH course is aimed at nurturing highly skilled public health professionals for the 21st century India, with the prowess to deliver solutions to global issues. Alongside theoretical grounding, professional development and all round grooming are emphasized in order to empower the students to face challenges in real life upon graduation.  The MPH course is divided into four semesters. In the third semester, students take elective courses and the fourth semester is mainly devoted to research work. The students have ample opportunities to get practical exposure to the field projects that AIPH runs across hundreds of village sites in Orissa and the two public health laboratories that AIPH runs in two major hospitals of the state.

Admission to the programs is done from among the eligible candidates based on the under mentioned eligibility criteria and selection process.

Eligibility Requirements

1) A Bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Applicants with bachelor’s degree in science, medicine, dental, veterinary science, physiotherapy, nursing, engineering, social science and social work, and paramedical sciences will be given preference.

2) Candidates appearing in the final year examination of the Bachelor's degree and waiting for the results of their final year degree examinations to be held in 2016 are also eligible to apply for admission to the program scheduled to start in July, 2016.  In such cases the selected students will be admitted provisionally and would be required to submit the evidence for the successful completion of Bachelor’s degree within three months of admission to the MPH program.

4) Working Professionals with a minimum of two years relevant sectoral experience are exempted from appearing in the interview.

Selection Procedure

The eligible candidates will be asked to appear in a qualifying exam and a personal interview. The final selection of the candidate will be based on his/her performance in the qualifying examination and interview. Candidates are required to bring original documents at the time of the interview.
