Scholars will have the opportunity to have a transformative cultural and educational experience. They will gain new technical and research skills, and may also extend the research undertaken during their PhD or may choose to gain expertise in a completely new area. They will subsequently be able to engage in productive networking in their chosen research area which would further facilitate their future academic engagements.

This fellowship is intended to encourage young scholars/students. They will get exposure in an international setting which will bring lifelong benefits to the individual trainees as well as to the institutions they would be affiliated to. The training and exposure they will receive will also broaden their understanding of research techniques, principles, and interdisciplinary approaches and thus will expand their scholarly horizons, a necessary step in becoming a more confident researcher in any corner of the world. Such an experience will also provide invaluable insights into the nature of the bi-national academic community and may often result in lifelong friendships and a broad bi-national professional network.
