Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute is coming up with Shastri Mobility Programme (SMP) which is a modified version of the existing mobility programme. This is one of the programmes under the Xth Addendum of MoU with the Government of India. The Mobility Programme will have two components i.e.
- senior academicians
- educational administrators
This programme will be for SICI’s member Institutions of good standing in India who wish to bring about a change in their university and/ or course by understanding the Canadian education system and the curriculum through their visit to Canadian Institutions, and delivering lectures in the visiting Institutions.
THE NEED AND THE OBJECTIVE:
To provide an opportunity for senior faculty members/ educational administrators from India to study and learn best practices through exposure to Canadian Institutions
BENEFITS AND EXPECTED IMPACT OF THE PROGRAMME:
Designed for senior academicians/ educational administrators, the programme will provide an opportunity for personal enrichment and professional development. The programme will enable higher education officials to create empowering connections with the societal, cultural and higher education systems of Canada. Recipients will have an opportunity to learn about the host country’s education system as well as establish networks. This experience will also permit senior academicians/ educational administrators to collaborate with colleagues abroad, share professional experiences, hone expertise and diversify academic curricula. It will help in
- Strengthening of participating institution's international networks
- Widening faculty/academic staff perspectives and backgrounds
- Accessing unique professional development opportunities that can't be gained onsite/in country
- Helping provide international exposure & perspective to academic curriculum & activities to which returning faculty/academic staff contribute
- Providing opportunity for long-term international collaboration with partner institutions
The Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute with funding support from the Ministry of Human Resource Development, GOI will invite proposals for Shastri Research Student Fellowship. This programme will be for SICI’s Member Institutions of good standing in India.
